Dr. Kilty has a Ph.D. in Zoology and Biochemistry from University College Dublin, Ireland.
He carried out post-doctoral research in protein chemistry and immunology at the University of Texas at Austin and at University College Dublin.
He joined the Diagnostics Division of Baxter Healthcare in 1986 and from 1987-1991 was Head of their
European Research and Development group in Switzerland.
Dr. Kilty was the founder of Biotrin, a virology diagnostics company, which was sold in 2008 to DiaSorin S.p.A. The biomarkers division of Biotrin spun-out to form Argutus Medical, which was sold in 2010 to EKF Diagnostics Ltd.
Dr. Kilty is also a Founder and past Chairman of the Irish BioIndustry Association. He was previously the founding Chairman of successful European biotechnology company, Opsona, in Dublin and is an investor in a number of life science companies.
He has recently been appointed Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine and Medicinal Chemistry at University College Dublin.
