In 1978, Deyon Stephens co-founded Mercy Ships with her husband, Don, and currently oversees the chaplaincy department.
Don and Deyon have four adult children, including a handicapped son who lives at home with them.
Deyon moved to Europe in 1969 to join a fledgling youth work in Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Africa before moving on
board the Anastasis, the Stephens’ home for 10 years.
Don and Deyon relocated to Garden Valley, Texas, in 1991, to develop the International Operations Center.
Deyon was originally trained as a Registered Nurse.
