Derek started in the games industry after leaving Huddersfield University in 1995. He started out as a Junior Artist at Lore Design based up in Liverpool and also became one of the founder members of Magenta Software in 1996.In 1998, he moved to London to join Bits Studios as a lead artist, where he worked on Die Hard Vendetta, Rogue Ops and
Constantine.
In 2006 he joined Kuju Entertainment to work on Rail Simulator where he was responsible for the production of the art and content. Derek became Studio manager for Rail Simulator Developments Ltd in 2007, and provided further support and development to the Train Simulator software.Derek has carried on in his role producing and developing high quality content. He now is Head of Content and oversees the production of all downloadable content.
