Derek Cheng is the Head of Asia-Pacific at Airbus Urban Air Mobility. He is responsible for leading all business development activities and forging partnerships for the deployment of urban air mobility (UAM) solutions in cities across the Asia-Pacific region.

Derek is actively engaging with cities in the Asia-Pacific region to unlock the

possibilities UAM can offer. In 2019, he was instrumental in developing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)—the first of its kind in Asia—between Airbus and the Shenzhen Municipal Commerce Bureau to accelerate the promotion and development of UAM solutions in Shenzhen, China. Airbus Urban Air Mobility aims to continue to work collaboratively with cities, authorities, and regulators to make UAM a reality.
