Mr. Cisterna is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Guardian Residential and guides the firm's investment strategy and growth. One of the most well-known executives in the SFR investment sector, he previously served as the CEO of Investability Solutions, a vertically-integrated service provider to institutional real estate investors.
Prior to joining Investability, Mr. Cisterna served as Managing Director of FirstKey Lending, a portfolio company of Cerberus Capital Management, where he was a part of the team that completed the first ever multi-borrower securitization in the SFR rental sector & led their origination team to more than $600 million in closed loans in less than two years.
Mr. Cisterna has held a wide variety of management positions within the real estate investment and development sectors including key roles at notable firms such as Johnson Capital, Lennar, and Toll Brothers. Throughout his career, he has completed more than $3 billion worth of real estate transactions across the U.S. and Europe. He currently serves as a member of the National Rental Home Council and has previously served in leadership capacities with the Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Home Builders and the Building Industry Association.
A requested speaker at economic and real estate conferences across the nation, Cisterna also serves as a monthly contributor for U.S. News & World Report and previously hosted The Investability Podcast. He was also named one of HousingWire’s Rising Stars of 2017. He is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in California and has a B.A. in Political Science from San Diego State University.
