David Snowball was appointed Director of Field Operations in May 2014. He is responsible for staff in FOD who regulate a wide range of employment sectors covering a significant proportion of the GB economy including construction, agriculture, general manufacturing, engineering, food and drink, quarries, entertainment, education, health services,
local and central government and domestic gas safety. Previously he was Divisional Director for Scotland and Northern England. He joined HSE as a factory inspector in 1984 and has worked for HSE in Cardiff, Hull, Sheffield, London, Leeds, Liverpool and Edinburgh.
