David is a independent Board Member at AppDynamics with over 30 years’ experience in the enterprise IT infrastructure industry. David was most recently Senior Vice President and General Manager of the global HP Storage business until March 2015.
Previously he had been the President and CEO of 3PAR, Inc., a data storage company that created and
defined the market for utility storage designed for service provider IT models. David was CEO of 3PAR for almost 10 years from early 2001 as it evolved from a venture backed private company to being publically listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2007, and finally through its acquisition by HP in 2010.
David had joined 3PAR from a prior 18 year career at HP in data storage, computing and networking, working in both the United Kingdom and the United States, and latterly holding various executive positions in marketing and general management.
He is currently on the Board of Trustees for Castelleja School since May 2015 and also served for 3 years on the Board of Trustees for Bowman International Montessori School up until 2013.
David holds a BSc Honours in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Bristol in the U.K. awarded in 1983, and also received a Doctorate of Engineering honoris causa from his Alma Mater in 2014.
