David Rai is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sparta Global, a provider of technology services and training for emerging talent in the UK. A serial entrepreneur who has worked across technology and gaming in both the UK and US, David co-founded Sparta Global in 2014 to help overcome the digital skills shortage in the UK with its
innovative hire, train, deploy (HTD) business model. Sparta Global is the UK’s only B-Corp certified HTD provider, attracting diverse emerging talent and training these recruits in cutting edge technology skills such as Data Engineering, Software Development, Cloud Engineering, Cyber Security and Business Analysis.
Born in Coventry in the United Kingdom to parents who had emigrated from India in the 1960s, David is particularly passionate about giving diverse communities the opportunity to succeed. Now a staunch advocate for social mobility, women, and ethnic minorities in technology, David is committed to helping emerging talent realise their potential in digital careers and has helped thousands of young people secure roles with blue chip organisations.
David has led Sparta Global through rapid growth and two private equity transactions (Key Capital Partners in 2017 and Inflexion Private Equity in 2020), with the company now standing at more than 1,000 employees and serving in excess of 100 organisations. In 2019, David Rai was named in the LDC Top 50 most ambitious UK business Leaders in The Telegraph and was awarded The Kings Award for Enterprise in 2024 and two commendations from HRH The Princess Royal at the 2021 Prince Royal Training Awards for Sparta Global’s exceptional commitment to training and development.
