David McLaughlin joined J.S Held in 2012. McLaughlin has been in the construction industry for 20 years. During his tenure at J.S. Held, McLaughlin has been involved in estimating, project management and on site project monitoring. He has had involvement in numerous major loss assignments throughout the United States.
McLaughlin has
consulted on large complex insurance losses including schools, malls, high rise hotels, high rise office buildings, apartment complexes, manufacturing buildings, and multi-building corporate campuses.
McLaughlin served as the construction consulting expert on an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program focused on resolving over 1,100 disputed Hurricane Katrina, Rita and Wilma claims for a large insurance company. Duties on this team included assessing, estimating and negotiating settlements on disputed claims throughout Florida and the Gulf Coast. In addition, attending and participating in mediation sessions for disputed claims was required. The program purpose was to resolve disputes by developing an agreement on the scope of damages and the corresponding repair or replacement cost.
McLaughlin is a graduate of University of Connecticut (BS 1990) School of Business.
