David Crain earned a doctorate in space sciences at the University of Texas and has spent the last eight years working at the world’s number one provider of space based weather sensors, ITT Corporation.
While at ITT, he served as the chief scientist for the GOES-R, HES and GLM programs.
Previously, Dr. Crain was the algorithm development lead
for the NPOESS CrIS program. Dr. Crain is one of the world’s experts in sounding phenomenology and atmospheric algorithmic analysis. He is well known and respected by U.S. Government civil space agencies including NOAA, NESDIS, NASA and the Department of Commerce. Dr. Crain has extensive working experience with the academic meteorological communities, including the University of Wisconsin, University of Texas, Texas A & M, Colorado State University and Utah State University.
Dr. Crain understands the intricacies associated with space-based weather data collection, processing and dissemination. As Chief Executive Officer, he will be able to guide the company in a way that maximizes its benefit to the U.S. and International stakeholders.
