David Hunter has been Professor of Health Policy and Management at Durham University since 2000 where he is Director of the Centre for Public Policy and Health in the School of Medicine, Pharmacy and Health (www.dur.ac.uk/public.health) and a Wolfson Fellow in the Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing. He is Deputy Director of
Fuse, the UKCRC Centre for Translational Research in Public Health (www.fuse.ac.uk). He mainly undertakes research on aspects of public health policy and practice. He co-leads the national leading health and wellbeing programme at Durham. He is a special advisor to WHO Europe on its health policy framework and strategy, Health 2020.
David is an honorary member of the Faculty of Public Health, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. He was Chair of the UK Public Health Association between 2004 and 2009.
David lectures and publishes widely on health policy and management topics. His new book, Partnership Working in Public Health, will be published by The Policy Press in January 2014.
