David Gee is founder of VHI Transport, Inc. of Richmond, VA, a logistics company which he established at the age of 30. With a debt-free business model and a reputation for integrity, Gee grew the company to become an award-winning, nationally known and respected enterprise. Gee became a spokesperson for the industry and served in key positions,
moving ultimately to the presidency of the largest trade association for his industry whose members represent over $700 billion in annual sales.
Gee began investing in companies in 1985. Establishing a proprietary process for determining risk/reward ratio, he has realized an excellent return on investments ranging from $10,000 to $1 million. Gee has been a major player in several key logistic services including software, load tracking and compliance checking. He was one of four owners of the transportation internet company Getloaded.com, chartered in 2004, that sold in 2008 for $75 million dollars.
Operation of the transportation company went to the next generation in 2000 and Gee became a serial investor in companies in technology, health care, communications, media and farming. Explaining his business philosophy, he stated, “I tend to get involved with the business plan, the industry trends but more important, the people, their background, their success, their skin in the game.” His inherent interest in people has led to extremely successful networking skills and an impeccable reputation in the business community at large. His most recent investments have been in the areas of health care, food and finance.
A resident of The Villages in Central Florida, David was widowed in 2008 after nearly 43 years of marriage. He has two children and six grandchildren.
