David is responsible for Marketing and Sales Operations, including CRM and Demand Generation systems and processes, (website, marketing automation and social media), as well as the annual Customer Survey, Analyst Relations and Value Proposition development at Swiss Post Solutions (SPS).
His areas of responsibility include marketing strategy,
best practice, performance measurement and organizational development. Prior to joining SPS in 2007 he held a number of sales management and consulting positions. He has lived in the UK, South Africa, United States and Switzerland, working for corporate organizations and technology start-ups and began his career with IBM. In 2013 he was awarded the ‘Oracle Excellence Award. Leadership:
Marketing for EMEA’ and is a regular speaker at industry events on the evolution of marketing.'
Regarding the title for my presentation, 'A Salesperson as Head of Global Marketing? (What were they thinking!) I will present why this makes sense, and vice versa, that our current mentality to organisational silos hold us back and what skills and attributes I believe are required to be a successful marketing leader.
