Mr. DeVries completed his master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and the majority of his Doctoral work in Solar Cells both at Washington State University. Mr. DeVries work in the fuel cell sector began with ReliOn (now a part of Plug Power) as one of the first R&D team members, he helped to develop the world’s first commercially successful
cathode cooled PEM fuel cell in 1996-2001 He then went on to found Genesis Fueltech Inc. in 2001 to develop methanol-to-hydrogen fuel processors for the fuel cell industry. This eventually led to a role as the Head of R&D Industrial Solutions at Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies in Shanghai, China. In 2016 Mr. DeVries joined Altergy Systems as the Chief Technology Officer, where he has been contributing to the overall technical development of the Altergy product lines.
