years, Colakovic has expanded Eco-Power’s services to cover everything from domestic skip hire and hazardous waste handling to biomass fuel production and plant hire. The group operates facilities in South Yorkshire and Humberside that process thousands of tonnes of material each year using systems like bio-drying, near-infrared sorting, and trommels. These outputs include solid recovered fuel (SRF), refuse-derived fuel (RDF), and kiln-dried biomass products that support a waste-to-resource model.

Eco-Power Skips, Eco-Power Civil Engineering, and Eco-Power Wood Fuels remain central to the group’s operations. Other ventures include Eco-Power Plant Hire, which supplies low-emission equipment to regional construction projects, and Eco-Power Racing, a horse training facility located near Langton Wold Gallops. With more than 30 stables and continued expansion underway, the site reflects Colakovic’s personal interest in both sustainable land use and competitive sport.

The Eco-Power name has become increasingly visible across Yorkshire. In 2021, David Colakovic secured naming rights to the Eco-Power Stadium, home to Doncaster Rovers FC and Doncaster RLFC. The group also holds the naming rights to the main grandstand at Doncaster Racecourse and supports a growing number of local events, from concerts and youth boxing to international football. The stadium has recently hosted matches for England Women’s U-23s, as well as performances by The Killers and Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott.

Alongside business, Colakovic supports a wide range of charitable and community projects. He founded the Eco-Power Foundation to help coordinate these efforts, which have included fundraising for a young cancer patient through the National 3 Peaks Challenge, sponsoring #Walkingsbrilliant events for mental health awareness, and backing a charity football match in Brodsworth for a local woman facing medical treatment.

He is also a contributor to the Eve Merton Dreams Trust, which supports families affected by terminal illness. Through Eco-Power and personally, he backs local sports programs including Rossington Main FC, Doncaster Belles, and youth boxing initiatives based at the stadium.

Colakovic is known for staying hands-on with the business, from hiring decisions to expansion strategy. He prioritizes local job creation, apprenticeships, and long-term investment in the region. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family, follows boxing closely, and holds a low golf handicap. His approach to business—practical, regional, and community-minded—continues to guide the growth of Eco-Power Group.
