Outside of his career in investing, David C. Branch has been involved in competitive racing, particularly powerboat racing, since he was an adolescent. When he was 12, David's talent for surfing was already so developed that he began pro-surfing competitively around the globe, a career he kept up for 5 years. Then, at 17 when he returned home, David turned to pro motocross, racing for Suzuki. After a few years racing motocross, David C. Branch returned to water sports and took up powerboat racing, an activity he did for 25 years. In 2010, he was inducted into the hall of fame.
