DAVID A. BOCIAN, a partner of the Firm, concentrates his practice in the areas of False Claims Act, whistleblower and health care litigation.
Mr. Bocian leads the Firm’s Qui Tam Litigation Group, a practice group dedicated exclusively to prosecuting whistleblower actions under federal and state false claims act statutes, and through the SEC,
CFTC and IRS whistleblower programs. The group includes former federal and state prosecutors with extensive experience litigating health care, securities and government contract fraud.
Mr. Bocian spent more than ten years as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, where he was appointed Senior Litigation Counsel and managed the Trenton U.S. Attorney’s office. During his tenure, Mr. Bocian oversaw multifaceted investigations and prosecutions pertaining to government corruption and federal program fraud, federal contractor fraud, commercial and public sector kickbacks, tax fraud, and other white collar and financial crimes. He tried numerous cases before federal juries, and was a recipient of the Justice Department’s Director’s Award for Superior Performance by an Assistant U.S. Attorney, as well as commendations from federal law enforcement agencies including the FBI and IRS.
Mr. Bocian has extensive experience in the health care and life sciences fields. He was previously employed in the health care industry, where he was responsible for implementing and overseeing a system-wide compliance program for a complex health system. He also serves as an adjunct professor of law, teaching Health Care Fraud and Abuse to second and third year law students.
