Dave has over 25 years of marketing, strategic planning and consumer insight experience across a variety of business and marketing models. Dave specializes in identifying opportunities for organic growth by developing insights into buyer/user motivations and marketing effectiveness. He has developed proprietary methods and processes in the
areas of brand and trademark architecture, segmentation, strategic/brand planning and the measurement of marketing effectiveness.
Most recently at the Zyman Group, Dave led the Consumer Insight and Research practice and was responsible for the development and application of methods and techniques that forge the link between existing consumer preferences and the role of marketing in creating desired behaviors. He is known and respected for his thought leadership, creativity and ability to develop solutions that leverage insight into actions that drive growth.
Prior to joining Zyman Group, Dave served as Director of Worldwide Research for The Coca-Cola Company. He was responsible for consumer research and insights that provided the foundation for worldwide brand positioning and marketing strategies for all global brands. Under his leadership, his department pioneered the use of occasion-based segmentation as a means to identify growth opportunities and developed the capability to identify opportunities to connect global brands to local opportunities for growth. The contributions of his department were recognized by Sergio Zyman as instrumental in driving growth from 9 to 15 billion unit cases sold.
Before working at Coca-Cola, Dave managed strategic research at Kraft Foods, Inc., General Foods and Johnson & Johnson. While at Kraft, Dave received the President’s Award for contribution to the growth of the POST® Cereal division.
Dave graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a BS in Business Administration. He has taught as an adjunct professor of business at Emory University.
