Dave Beaumont began as a Genetics student, studying at both Leeds University in the UK and McMaster University in Canada before realizing that everyone else in the room was smarter than him. He ended up in IT. His career in technology began at the cutting edge of dial-up Internet access in the UK, which led him on a winding identity road that
started with Radius and X500 and has not yet come to an end. He has been architecting the identity data platform at Comcast since before it was cool to hash passwords (over a decade), and currently runs both a large LDAP directory and a graph database, with plans to nail them together or die trying. For fun he plays around with data visualization with D3, and he has enjoyed almost 12 months of sleep deprivation since his daughter was born a year ago.
