Dave Barr joined Nirvanix from HP where he was responsible for managing the HP-LeftHand Networks' Engineering Organization, over 130 employees worldwide. At Nirvanix Barr is responsible for leading the expansion of the company's global engineering and R&D teams and delivering the next generation of enterprise-grade cloud storage
services. HP acquired LeftHand in Oct. 2008. At HP, Barr led integration of LeftHand Networks technology and teams into HP and maintained best in class quality while delivering on aggressive product roadmaps. Barr was LeftHand's Director of Engineering, where he was responsible for all product development on a complex scale out/distributed storage system. Products developed by his organization were key to increasing LeftHand revenues by approximately 2,000% in less than 4 years. Prior to LeftHand, Barr was Director of Engineering at Spectra Logic, where he was responsible for all aspects of development on leading-edge robotic tape libraries and disk-based backup products. Prior to that he held senior engineering positions at Phoenix Technologies, NCR and Marconi Instruments. Barr holds a BSc (Hons), in Computer Science from the University of Dundee in Scotland.
