Darya was just finishing up her Master’s Degree in Quantitative Methods in Social Sciences from Columbia University when her brother approached her with the idea behind reKiosk. She had just spent a month traveling in Africa as COO for a startup political risk firm, where she witnessed first hand the disruptive power of digital media. On her
return, she was eager to build a company from scratch that took advantage of new opportunities in digital media to focus on sustainability and positive social impact and she saw reKiosk as a tool to increase creativity and access to the arts. Prior to obtaining her graduate degree, Darya was Head of Investor Relations and Chief Compliance Officer at LM ISIS, a women-run hedge fund, and was an accounting and operations manager at Rock Creek Group, a $5 billion fund-of-fund in Washington DC, where she oversaw all accounts and monetary transactions.
