Darryl Green was named as ManpowerGroup’s first Chief Operating Officer in May 2014, to ensure the continuance and acceleration of operational performance. As ManpowerGroup COO, Green has responsibility for ManpowerGroup’s four regions — Americas, Asia Pacific Middle East, Northern and Southern Europe. Green is a strong commercial leader with a
a focus on driving growth through disciplined execution. He formerly held the role of President and Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific Middle East and Northern Europe.
Green joined the ManpowerGroup in 2007 as Executive Vice President, leading the Asia Pacific Region. His deep knowledge of emerging markets has been instrumental in accessing and growing the Asia Pacific region. In addition, Green led the development of ManpowerGroup’s Borderless Talent Solutions, a service that provides professionals with access to unsurpassed opportunities around the world and allows companies to source the best talent, regardless of location.
Before joining the company, Green was a senior executive in the telecom industry. He served as Chief Executive Officer of several mobile/data communications companies including Tata Teleservices, J-Phone (Vodafone Japan), Global Crossing Japan, AT&T Japan and AT&T JENS. During his 18 years in the telecommunications industry, Green established a reputation as an innovator, establishing several first-to-market services, including: sha-mail in Japan (the world’s first camera phone), Non-stop Mobile in India, and AT&T@phone in Japan. Green’s track record of winning market share and increasing earnings through innovation is truly remarkable.
The import/export of talent is one of the hot topics of the 21st century and Green is one of the world’s foremost experts in this area with a proven track record of large scale solutions adopted by both government and industry. He has served as the Vice Chairman of the Japan Telecommunications Association, member of Mizuho Financial Group's advisory board, and Director of the Japan Staffing Service Association (JASSA).
Green holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a BA in Japanese/Asian studies from Brigham Young University in Utah. Fluent in both English and Japanese, Green spent over 25 years in Asia before moving to Milwaukee, WI.
