Danny Poisson is the Technical Director for Raytheon’s PDM program and Chief IT Architect supporting the PDM Solution Center for Raytheon Global Business Services (GBS). He began his career in the defense industry in 1989 as a marine piping designer at Bath Iron Works. In 1997, Danny made the formal shift in his career from Mechanical Engineering
Design to Information Technology (IT) as Business Analyst /Application Developer at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). At CSC, Danny was responsible for developing automations for CAD and other engineering related processes. Danny went on to lead several high profile programming projects and in 2004 received the CSC Award for Technical Excellence.
In 2005, Danny began to focus on the Product Data Management aspect of IT as a Global Services Consultant at PTC. While at PTC, Danny rose to the level of Solution Master Architect and was responsible for creating Windchill based solutions and data migrations for various PTC clients.
In 2008, Danny joined Raytheon and their newly formed Common Product Data Management (PDM) initiative with the goal to create a single PDM instance with common processes that enables a “design anywhere” capability for Raytheon’s 30,000 engineers. Since joining Raytheon, Danny has held various positions of increasing technical and management responsibility including Chief Engineer as he architected and implemented one of the largest single PDM deployments in the world. Danny has received numerous awards including the Raytheon IDS President's award in 2009 and GBS CIO Awards for Excellence in In Information Technology in 2012 and 2013.
Danny earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from Kaplan University in 2015 (Summa Cum Laude). He is a graduate of Raytheon Certified Architecture Program (RCAP) 2016, and also holds Associate Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Vermont Technical College (1989) and Ship Design from Maine Maritime Academy (1994).
