Danius Backis is an Ro5 data scientist in clinical trial analytics. His University of Warwick undergraduate degree in mathematics and statistics ignited his passion for the applicability of statistics to genetics, economics and finance. That led to the University of Oxford, where he currently is completing a master’s in statistical science with a
focus on machine learning. In a year abroad at Sorbonne University in Paris, he finished with high honours. In tandem with his studies, he has worked as a financial-analyst intern at Morgan Stanley and a data scientist at Oxera Consulting.
Danius belongs to the Oxford Union Debating Society and represents his college in weekly football matches. He is fluent in French, Lithuanian and English, and studies Spanish and Russian. He enjoys novels, films and, in his free time, seeing the world with his friends.
