Daniel Watkins is the Principal Software Engineer at Orthogonal. Mr. Watkins co-founded Mercantec in 1995 and became its Vice President - Research and Development. Mr. Watkins is the architect and developer of the original SoftCart technology. Mr. Watkins was promoted to the position of Chief Technology Officer in March of 1999 and is responsible
for developing long-term technical strategies for the company and defining the technology requirements and processes which support and impact the Company's overall business strategy.
Prior to the formation of Mercantec in early 1995, Mr. Watkins was a consultant at the A.C. Nielsen Company developing marketing research applications. Mr. Watkins has over ten years of experience in engineering management and over twenty years in Information Technology. Mr. Watkins holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
