Originating from the humble locale of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, Daniel Walter Hill's life's path reflects a narrative of perseverance, dedicated ambition, and a hint of fate's guidance. Growing up in Canada, he ultimately found his calling in St. Augustine, Florida, a move inspired by a significant car accident that shifted his
perspective and motivated his relocation to the United Kingdom.
He boasts a versatile entrepreneurial background, encompassing sectors like real estate, homebuilding, golf course development, the oil and gas industry, cable broadcasting, plastics manufacturing, utility operations, and waste management. He was integral in guiding, establishing, and managing numerous enterprises across these varied industries, excelling in problem resolution, capital generation, and strategic oversight.
Among his numerous initiatives, he was a principal founding consultant and investor in Allied Waste Industries, a key player in the waste management arena, which later merged with and took on the name of Republic Services. His professional odyssey commenced in real estate development, where he managed the procurement, conceptualization, planning, and financial orchestration of expansive mixed-use property developments in Texas, California, and Arizona.
His academic journey is as eclectic as his career. He acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Georgetown University. Then, he pursued a Law degree at the University of Saskatchewan, culminating in his admission to the bar in British Columbia. His educational pursuits continued at Harvard University's School of Business Administration, where he completed the renowned Owner/President Management Program. He further honed his financial acumen at Oxford Templeton College in the UK, focusing on Executive Finance.
