Daniel Sergi is a retired CEO with over four decades of experience in the insurance industry. Throughout his career, he held key leadership roles at several major insurance brokerage firms, including Alexander & Alexander & Co., Corroon & Black & Co., and Willis. Starting as an Account Executive and advancing to Executive Vice
President & Managing Director, he built a strong reputation in client management, sales, and operational leadership. In 1994, Daniel shifted from the corporate world to become the owner of Wine Sergi & Co., a family-owned insurance agency in the Chicago suburbs. As President & CEO, he spearheaded the firm’s growth, expanding it from a small, eight-person team into one of Illinois’ largest independent insurance brokerages, with over 100 employees. This success ultimately led to the company’s acquisition by Acrisure Corp., a global insurance brokerage, in 2015. Beyond his professional career, Daniel has been an active board member for multiple corporate and nonprofit organizations, including two banks and several private companies. His expertise covers a broad range of insurance sectors, including Property & Liability, Healthcare, Life Insurance, and Personal Insurance, with experience spanning local, national, and international markets. Recognized for his leadership and industry contributions, Daniel has received numerous accolades, including the Business Excellence Award and Lifetime Achievement Award. Under his leadership, Wine Sergi & Co. was consistently ranked among the “Best Places to Work in Illinois.” Even in retirement, Daniel remains engaged in philanthropic efforts, offering financial support and volunteer work for local causes. While he continues to serve on corporate and nonprofit boards, he now enjoys a more balanced and relaxed lifestyle.
