Dan is the CEO and founder of Vestar. He also serves as Co-Head of the Consumer group and is a director on the boards of Roland Foods, Big Heart Pet Brands (fka Del Monte), and Sun Products.
He was formerly Co-Head of the Management Buyout Group of The First Boston Corporation, where he worked with other members of Vestar’s founding team. He
began his career at investment bank Dillon, Read & Company.
He has a BA in Political Science from Brown University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
Dan is Chairman of the Board of Cardinal Spellman HS and Treasurer of the Cardinal Spellman HS Foundation, Trustee Emeritus of Brown University, and a member of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Investment Advisory Committee.
Originally from the Bronx, New York, Dan is married with five children and lives in Greenwich, Connecticut.
