Daniel Pope worked for more than ten years as a private contractor in the Instrumentation and Process Control field. This position included servicing over 20 waterworks facilities across Virginia. This allowed the opportunity to work on an array of annunciator panel implementations, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA systems, Programmable
Logic Controllers (PLC), automated chemical ejection systems (CL2/SO2), 3 phase electrical installs, and flow measurement calibration and installation. He also provided plant compliance reports and consultation for the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) plant inspections. Daniel joined the Cyber Realm Solutions team through BCP Engineers and Consultants, (CRS's parent company) in 2019 as a Cyber Security Assessment Specialist and worked in that position for 2.5 years . Daniel is now one of the Managers of Operations at Cyber Realm Solutions. His power generation experience spans NRC and NERC CIP requirements for regulatory compliance, digital system assessments, Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT), asset identification/configuration control, facility walkdown and verification, system audits, Nuclear/PV/CT/Coal operations, and DCS/ICS system components. Daniel has further experience in Security Controls Implementation Strategies (SCIS), NIST CSF, and implementing guidance from NEI 08-09, NEI 13-10, and 10 CFR 73.54. He holds a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with focus in Business, Health Science, and Language, is CompTIA Security+ certified, and has active qualification for Cyber Security Controls Analysis (Cleared to accomplish Nuclear Cyber Security Assessments).
