Daniel began his distinguished career by joining the United States Army Reserve as a
Military Police officer. Over 10 years, he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant, displaying exemplary leadership and dedication. His service included deployments to Iraq in 2008 and Afghanistan in 2012, where he participated in challenging combat operations. For his heroism and valor, Daniel was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, one of the many military honors he received. His accolades also included the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (2nd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal with Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device, NATO Medal, and the Combat Action Badge. After concluding his military service, Daniel transitioned to a new chapter by joining the New York City Police Department (NYPD). His discipline and commitment quickly set him apart within the department. He initially served as a Police Officer in the 71st Precinct, where his exceptional performance led to his selection as a Neighborhood Coordination Officer (NCO). In this community-focused role, Daniel became the primary point of contact for residents within his precinct, addressing their concerns and building trust. His effectiveness in this role earned him high praise and consistently excellent evaluations from his superiors. Driven by a desire for continuous growth, Daniel sought and achieved assignment to the NYPD’s elite Emergency Service Unit (ESU). The ESU, known for handling the most dangerous and critical situations in the city, only selects the most capable and dedicated officers. Daniel excelled in the ESU’s rigorous training program, displaying the teamwork and selflessness that had defined his military career. After completing the program, he continued to excel in this demanding role, earning the respect of his peers and superiors. His commitment to protecting others, even in the most perilous circumstances, made him an invaluable asset to the department. Throughout his career with the NYPD, Daniel received numerous awards, including four Meritorious Police Duty awards and nine Excellent Police Duty awards.
