Dan's discovered his passion for sound reinforcement in the 1990's when he served as a volunteer on the audio team at Green Bay Community Church. He built a studio in his basement and started recording local bands. In 2004 he was recruited by Dudley Birder of St. Norbert College to run sound for the summer Music Theatre productions in
full length Broadway musicals such as "The Taffetas", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", "A Chorus Line", "Beauty and the Beast", and "The King and I."
In 2007, Darren Johnson of Daddy D Productions hired Daniel to run sound for his fledgling dinner theatre troupe at the S.C. Grand in De Pere in his production of "Little Shop of Horrors." For the next few years, both the dinner theatre and Dan's investment in equipment and learning the trade grew and eventually the Daddy D group broke away from the S.C. Grand and became a free-standing performing group putting on shows for corporate events and the public in conference centers, auditoriums and music venues all over Wisconsin.
In 2010, when Dan was laid off from his job as a TV Repair Technician, the blurry line between hobby and business became much clearer and shortly after this, he incorporated Sonic M.D. LLC.
