Dan Veoni serves as Vice President of Government Affairs at AMSA. In this role, Dan develops AMSA's policy positions, designs and implements all legislative and regulatory issue advocacy initiatives, participates in the planning and execution of strategic communications efforts associated with issue advocacy, and is staff liaison to
AMSA's Government Affairs Committee. Dan also serves as Treasurer and manager of AMSA's political action committee (AMPAC).
Prior to joining AMSA, Dan was professional staff on the Highways and Transit Subcommittee of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee at the U.S. House of Representatives. Dan managed the highway safety, motor carrier, and highway research portfolio on behalf of Chairman Bill Shuster and former Chairman John Mica. Dan drafted the Highway Safety and Transportation Research and Education Titles in the House's Surface Transportation Reauthorization proposal (H.R. 7) and negotiated highway safety and research provisions on behalf of the Committee during MAP-21 (P.L. 112-141) Conference Committee meetings with Senate staff.
Dan is a graduate of Michigan State University and is currently pursuing a master's in public policy from George Mason University.
