A 1992 graduate of Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Scanlan was recruited to form an equipment leasing company for a $1 billion bank holding company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Scanlan helped grow the company, which
was ultimately acquired by Wells Fargo Equipment finance, where he contributed equipment-leasing assets to a $5 billion portfolio as a national account manager. In 2001, Scanlan joined a boutique FINRA licensed broker-dealer spun out of RBC Dain Rauscher in Minneapolis to form the investment banking division. During his tenure, Scanlan was successful in raising and syndicating close to $500 million in private debt and hybrid equity transactions in various asset classes, including heavy equipment and casino gaming equipment (industrial, transportation, aircraft, agricultural equipment), and commercial and residential real estate.
