Dan is addicted to great design. Driven to continually build best-in-class software products and features he is currently leading work on real-time data visualization, data science, 2D/3D UI, and R&D for award winning products at SOASTA.
Dan is best described as a combination of Creative Director, Engineering Manager, and Product Manager; leading teams wherever needed to ensure that products make the biggest impact possible. To that end he and his teams' work over the last seven years at SOASTA is being used by 51 of the Top 100 internet retailers, six of the Forbes Top 10 media companies and seven of the Forbes Top 10 tech companies, including Apple, Target, Nordstrom, Staples, Home Depot, Sears, Walmart, Etsy, Nike, Best Buy, Adobe, Intuit, Microsoft, DIRECTV, Netflix and CBS. Prior to SOASTA Dan was Senior Engineering Manager at Intuit for TurboTax Online - the number one consumer-rated tax software in the US.
Dan is considered a subject matter expert in large scale performance engineering from hands-on experience with hundreds of web apps for well known brands. He has given over fifty keynote and track presentations at conferences on software engineering topics. He is credited with setting multiple industry precedents including deploying the world's largest session replicating JBoss cluster by working closely with RedHat (2007), using over 2,000 cloud computing cores to generate load against a live production web site (2009), and authoring the first "Performance Testing in Production" methodology (2009). Dan has multiple patents pending in real-time data and user interfaces.
