Started career at eBay.com. First as a product manager focussed on launching new verticals (services and cars). Later joined the strategy team focussed on M&A and monetisation.
In 2009 decided to fulfill his entrepreneurial dream and co-founded Harvest (strategy consulting)
and Harvest adVentures (early stage investor & operator). In four years the company grew rapidly in number of consultants, revenue, clients and knowledge, becoming a European market leader in online strategy and monetization. Led various investment into early stage companies. In 2013 Harvest got acquired by Naspers/Prosus, listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange (AEX).
The acquisition of Harvest was the beginning of an international adventure @ OLX. Our mission was to bring 2nd hand trade to LATAM, ASIA, Africa/ME and Russia/EEU. Both the scale and the positive impact on people and planet were super cool and gave a lot of positive energy. Held various positions within OLX (all part of global MT). Launched 20+ new markets. Managed mature businesses (1000+ FTE, $100m+) and super various early stage start-ups. Made a lot of mistakes and did a few things right. Most proud of the teams I’ve build in LATAM, Africa, Europe and Middle East (and especially the fun we had!).
After 6 years of OLX I took a sabbatical that I used to become super fit physically, mentally and spiritually. Also really enjoyed being a full time house dad. Now I selectively spend my time on helping cool projects and awesome people. Started career at eBay/ Marktplaats.nl.
