D. Michael Wilson is the President and CEO of Prince International. He holds over 20 years of experience in executive roles with a distinguished background leading billion-dollar organizations to exceptional levels of growth and profitability. Wilson's prime focus is on building company culture and connecting people to purpose. His areas of
expertise include strategic development, change management, operational excellence, sustainability, enterprise turnarounds, and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Prince International in fall 2020, D. Michael Wilson was president, chief executive officer, and director of Ingevity, a leader in specialty chemicals and performance materials. During his tenure, Wilson led growth in revenues from approximately $900 million in 2016 to $1.3 billion in fiscal 2019. Additionally, he shepherded the company through three major acquisitions.
Prior to Ingevity, D. Michael Wilson was with Albemarle Corporation for two years where he served as executive vice president and president of the $1.6 billion Performance Chemicals global business unit. This unit included the lithium, bromine, curatives, and organometallics and derivative catalysts franchises.
From 1997 to 2013, Wilson held executive roles with FMC. He was executive vice president and president of the $1 billion Specialty Chemicals Group, corporate vice president and general manager of the Industrial Chemicals Group, and division manager for the Lithium Division. During his tenure, he delivered record BioPolymer earnings, significantly broadened the Food Ingredients platform, and executed major capacity expansions in both the BioPolymer and Lithium businesses. The Industrial Chemicals Group delivered $550M in revenue and $170M in earnings growth under his leadership.
Throughout his years, D. Michael Wilson has been an active board member. He's served on the Boards of Directors of Vulcan Materials, the American Chemistry Council, the National Association of Manufacturers, and the Philadelphia and Greater Charleston Metro Chambers of Commerce. He is also a committed philanthropist, having established the D. Michael and Pam Wilson Family Fund. The foundation benefits the Lowcountry Food Bank, the South Carolina Aquarium, and Reading Partners South Carolina, among other causes. The Family Fund is also underwriting the D. Michael and Pam Wilson Plastic Free Waters initiative at the SC Aquarium.
D. Michael Wilson has been recognized as one of the "50 Most Influential People" in Charleston Business Magazine for his corporate leadership.
