As Chief Operating Officer, Cliff is responsible for the operational management and leadership of EPIC’s Southwest Region and is charged with maintaining enterprise-wide profitability, client satisfaction and retention, and growth.
Cliff joined Ascende (an EPIC Company) in 2007 to launch the firm’s global solutions practice. Under his
guidance, the practice grew from a single client with one expatriate employee to a team of specialists providing global benefit consulting services to a number of multinational organizations.
Prior to Ascende, Cliff held various management positions with Cigna, Unocal and Chevron. His background includes workers’ compensation cost control, integrated disability management, and health and welfare program management for both active employees and retirees.
Cliff earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from California State University, Northridge. He also earned a Global Professional Human Resources (GPHR) certification, conferred in 2008—a professional designation held by fewer than 1,500 people worldwide.
Cliff is a frequent speaker at industry events focused on global benefit issues, including presentations at the National Foreign Trade Conference HR forum, the Texas State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management’s Global HR Symposium, the Gulf Coast Symposium of HR Houston, as well as at industry-specific functions for the drilling and energy services sectors.
He is actively involved in the Worldwide Broker Network (WBN), providing insight and direction to enhance the Network’s national service efforts. Cliff is a past member of the Legislative Action Committee for HR Houston and he has served on the Board of Directors for the Pacific Business Group on Health.
