After initially acquiring multi-family
properties in Hollywood, Claus opted to sell his entire portfolio in the late 80s, near the top of the Southern California market. In 1993, he jumped back into the market at a time when values had declined to half the level at which he sold. Claus has overseen the acquisition of more than 1,200 apartment units and more than 2.5 million square feet of commercial properties.
