Chris received his Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Rochester in 2004 with a thesis project that developed several scalable uses for silicon nanostructures in biotechnology and alternative energy fields. For the last 10 years he has worked for university spinout companies that bridge the gap between the precisely
structured solid-state microelectronic chips and biological environments. His work at Adarza focuses on the development of the Arrayed Imaging Reflectometry detection platform, where he has applied his expertise in engineering, thin film optics and nanoscale materials to build a consumable and instrument system around the technology. Chris has co-authored 10 patent applications, has 28 peer-reviewed publications, and has been the Principle Investigator on Phase I and II SBIR projects with total funding over $2.5M, and has been invited to present his work on optical biosensing and nanostructured materials at conferences in the U.S. and Europe.
