Christopher Murphy founded Existence Authentication in 2022 and serves as its CEO. Prior to that, he founded Vir-Sec in 2007 to bring the unique, superior security technology that he invented to market. He created a capital structure to support product development, marketing and sales, recruited an industry-leading management team, and secured a
patent on the technology. He leads technical innovation and product applications for specific vertical markets including government, banking, and healthcare. A self-made inventor and entrepreneur in the finest American tradition, Chris has created the best foundation for a more secure Internet.
After honorable service in the US Army as a Cartographic Draftsman, Chris focused on the computer software programming industry and quickly taught himself BASIC. He built from this foundation and soon secured a position as a Systems Analyst. In 1985 he began his entrepreneurial journey as a software development and engineering consultant, serving clients such as Travelers & Travelers Real Estate Investment Company, Medicare, Itochu Steel, Riverport Steel, and Yamamoto Fine Banking. He formed several companies that developed applications for the transportation industry and multi-level marketing organizations.
While he was attending Waterbury State Technical College in Connecticut, the state legislature threatened to close the school. Chris galvanized students and technology businesses, launching a successful campaign to stop the action. He was named “Connecticut Technical College Student of the Year” and appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Connecticut college system, where he served.
