Dr. Moller brings to the Fund extensive knowledge of biological research and drug development and 15 years of experience as a leading biotechnology venture investor.
In 1990, Dr. Moller joined Radnor Venture Partners, a TL Ventures predecessor fund. He has been a leader of the TL Ventures biotechnology group since 1992, having responsibility for
evaluating, selecting and managing biotechnology companies in TL Ventures' portfolio.
From his many years in the venture business, Dr. Moller has gained considerable expertise in the sourcing and selection of biotechnology investments. Since 1992, the biotechnology group has been responsible for investments in 21 biotechnology companies, the majority of which have been focused on therapeutics. Through his experiences, Dr. Moller has developed a disciplined investment strategy focused on the creation of new biotechnology companies with pharmaceutical assets which have reduced development risk, yet serve large markets and retain significant return potential.
Dr. Moller also has extensive experience in company development, including the critical activities of syndicate building and financing strategy. He has served or currently serves as a director for 16 companies. He has successfully guided the strategies and operations of numerous early-stage biotechnology companies – under his leadership, eight portfolio companies have gone public while three have been sold.
Dr. Moller’s educational and research background have allowed him to become highly skilled in the evaluation of the science and technology of therapeutics companies. He earned a Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986 and a B.A. degree in Chemistry from Pomona College in 1979. Dr. Moller is a past director of the Lankenau Medical Research Institute and the Delaware Valley Venture Group. Dr. Moller currently serves as a director of the Mirror Laboratory of the University of Arizona.
