Chris Nicholas Vrame grew up in the greater Chicago area, where he developed a strong work ethic and an early appreciation for community. Being raised near a major city exposed him to people from many different backgrounds, which helped shape his practical, people-focused approach to business and relationships. These early experiences taught him
the value of persistence, responsibility, and clear communication, principles that continue to guide his professional and personal life.
Chris attended DePaul University in Chicago, where he strengthened his critical thinking skills and learned how to manage long-term responsibilities. His time at DePaul helped prepare him for an independent career path that would require discipline, adaptability, and careful planning. The education he received reinforced his interest in building projects that combine creativity with real-world results.
Chris has always been drawn to innovative ideas. In Chicago, he and his partners created and operated a wine bar called The Tasting Room. Critically acclaimed by Wine Spectator, it was one of the first establishments to allow patrons to sample over 100 different wines by the glass each night. The Tasting Room also featured a boutique retail store where customers could purchase the wines they tasted, blending a unique experiential concept with a retail opportunity. This project reflects Chris’s ability to combine creativity, operational skill, and customer-focused innovation.
After moving to Sacramento, California, Chris became self-employed and focused on entrepreneurial and development opportunities. One of his most notable ventures is Arena Softball, a modern indoor version of baseball played within a fully netted system. The game features unique rules and scoring methods designed to create a faster, more engaging experience. Chris served as a co-founder and financial partner, helping fund its development and support operations. While public articles often list Greg Joseph as the founder, Chris played a key role as both a co-founder and the primary financial partner. Arena Softball continues to operate today, including a former facility in Eagan, Minnesota.
Chris has also made a lasting impact through real estate development and community planning. In Elk Grove, California, he acquired and redeveloped the Lakeside Business Park and Residential Planned Community. After years of stalled progress due to outdated zoning, Chris successfully secured approvals for commercial and residential use. The property now houses more than 300 single-family homes, along with professional offices, restaurants, and service-based businesses that serve the local community.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys skiing, youth sports, and theater. While he is not currently affiliated with any clubs, these interests remain an important part of his life. Chris Nicholas Vrame continues to focus on projects that blend innovation, perseverance, and positive community impact, guided by a steady work ethic and long-term vision.
