Chris Salis is a tech industry veteran with experience leading and innovating that stretches back more than 20 years, and he has worked with both large, multinational corporations and startups alike. He emphasizes productivity in the workplace--especially in the world of startups--through the the lean startup philosophy as well as David Allen’s
Getting Things Done (GTD) method so that companies and individuals alike can achieve their full potential.
After graduating from Purdue University, Chris Salis began his career at Adecco Employment Services, the world’s leading provider of HR solutions. Chris realized that customers who came into his office would input their information onto dumb terminals connected to a mainframe and that they would be better served by using a computer with an internet connection, so he began an initiative to replace all terminals with internet-enabled computers. Chris’ efforts resulted in a full transformation of Adecco’s process that allowed the company’s specialists to more efficiently match the right candidates to the right companies.
Chris Salis left Adecco to apply his insights and innovative approach at Gap, Inc., where he was the Manager of Strategic Sourcing, and eBay, where he was Manager of Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and Operational Excellence. In each of these roles, Chris continued to look for ways that technology could help to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
In addition, throughout his professional experience, Chris Salis has been responsible for leading others. Whether his team is large or small, homogeneous or composed of members of different backgrounds, Chris has always been able to draw on his peers’ strengths in order to get the job done. Chris firmly believes that a company’s most valuable assets are its people, and he enjoys the chances he has to work with and lead employees in order to leverage their abilities.
Outside of the office, Chris is happily married and the father of two young sons. Chris loves to share his experiences as a parent and frequently gives his advice on how parents can address certain challenges, like planning a vacation or purchasing life insurance. He lives in San Mateo, California with his family.
