Chris Mathieu is an original member of the team that founded Horizon in 2003 and is Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. Chris also serves as SVP, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Horizon Technology Finance Corporation (NASDAQ: HRZN), a public, externally-managed Business Development Company. He has been involved in the
accounting, finance and venture debt industries for more than 20 years. His background includes positions as Vice President – Life Sciences with GATX Ventures, Inc. and the primary business development officer for the life science sector, and Vice President – Life Sciences of Transamerica Business Credit’s Technology Finance division. Earlier, Chris was Vice President, Finance with Financing for Science International, Inc. Prior to that, Chris was a Manager with the financial services group of KPMG. Chris earned a BS in Business Administration degree in Accounting with honors from Western New England College and is a Certified Public Accountant, chartered in the State of Connecticut.
