Chris Bissonnette - Guiding Legal, Labor, and HR Efforts in California With more than two decades of experience in HR, labor relations, and talent acquisition, Chris Bissonnette serves as director of human resources with the Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas). Chris Bissonnette oversees initiatives that align clean energy business pathways
with employee needs, fostering an environment of engagement and inclusion. His responsibilities also span areas such as change management, retention, and succession planning.
Previously, Mr. Bissonnette guided wellness and labor relations at SoCalGas and helped negotiate a 2021 union contract that covered 4,800 employees. His background with the Sempra subsidiary extends to a past role as senior counsel for labor and employment. Mr. Bissonnette collaborated with in-house attorneys on complex state and federal cases involving utility rates, transmission and distribution projects, and renewable gas/hydrogen/biomethane sphere efforts. Appearing before the California Public Utilities Commission, he spearheaded one of the firm’s most successful outcomes ever in general rates.
His resume extends to a senior associate role with Paul Hastings LLP’s Los Angeles office, where he handled employment litigation, including class actions across a variety of industries. Mr. Bissonnette, a US military veteran, served in the New York Army National Guard and Army Reserves. He has volunteered extensively to assist people transitioning from service to civilian employment.
