Chiyoung Kim leads Business Development at Yobi where he leads the company’s fundraising, strategy, analytics, and business operations capabilities. He has a passion for frontier technologies and their potential to augment human capacity and disrupt systems.
Before Yobi, Chiyoung studied and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. During his
time at Harvard Business School, he explored the potential of blockchain applications in gaming, and was the Head of Growth at Playground Labs where he built up the Partnerships teams, developed new product strategies, helped launch the $KAP token, and wrote deep thought pieces. He also spent part of his time in business school as an investor at Hivemind, a web3-focused investment firm. At Hivemind he focused on the firm’s gaming and metaverse investments.
Before Harvard Business School, Chiyoung was an Associate at Cue Ball where he brought an appreciation for the application of technology and data to empower, augment, and better understand human interactions and behavior. At Cue Ball, Chiyoung was responsible for identifying and evaluating new investments and supporting portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Cue Ball, Chiyoung was an Associate at Bulger Partners (acquired by Parthenon-EY) where he worked on and led strategy and due diligence engagements for software-focused private equity deals across various industries. Chiyoung graduated from Harvard College with an SB in Electrical Engineering and a secondary degree in East Asian Studies. While at Harvard, he was a member of the Harvard Breakers. He is originally from South Korea and grew up in North Hollywood.
