Previously, Cheryl was the Sponsorship & PR Manager at Unbounce where she led startup programming, PR, community events, sponsorships and offline engagement. Prior to joining Unbounce in 2014, Cheryl led recruitment and programming at several startup accelerators in Canada and the US scouting entrepreneurs and working with mentors and strategic partners. Cheryl was responsible for business development and client services for the Ottawa Senators NHL franchise for a number of years uncovering an opportunity to build and launch Boxseat Suite Management as a niche SaaS tool to automate the corporate sales cycle for sports venues, increasing revenue and reducing churn year over year. Early on, Cheryl spent time working as a freelancer and with several leading agencies managing web and print projects for clients such as Cacao Camino Chocolate and Microsoft gaining a deep understanding of the importance of building lasting relationships with her clients, and how to communicate with creative colleagues.

In her free time, Cheryl travels regularly to facilitate Startup Weekend 54-hour hackathon events, directs Startup Grind Vancouver's fireside chat series, keeps Vancouver's entrepreneurs up-to-date on events through curating the Startup Digest, mentors up-and-coming entrepreneurs and frequently plays dinner host to visiting out-of-town founders and investors.
