Cherith Wareley, a dedicated 27-year-old high school teacher and grade head based in Cape Town, is forging her path as a tech enthusiast committed to transforming education through the integration of business and technology. Currently pursuing her Master’s in Computer-Integrated Education at UP, Cherith is navigating the dynamic intersection of

these fields to influence positive change in the development sector of teaching. Having earned an Honours degree in Language and Literacy at UWC, Cherith’s educational journey reflects her passion for language and literacy, which she now channels into innovative approaches for educational technology.

Cherith’s commitment to reshaping education is evident in her initiative, Digitisd, a platform aimed at empowering teachers and revolutionising teacher education experiences. In her quest to bridge the gap between education, business, and technology, Cherith draws inspiration from the challenges faced by educators, especially in marginalised communities. Cherith’s entrepreneurial spirit is akin to her commitment to making a positive socio-economic impact, aligning with her vision for a future where education is a catalyst for transformative change.

In addition to her entrepreneurial work, Cherith is deeply committed to supporting the next generation of teachers. She serves as a mentor to newly qualified teachers, guiding them as they navigate the challenges of the classroom and their early careers. With her wealth of experience and her keen understanding of the evolving educational environment, Cherith helps new teachers build confidence, grow professionally, and become change agents in their communities.

She has also been recognised in prestigious programs like Top 12 in the WomHub Women in Tech incubation, Tech In Heels (Lagos) Top 5, RLabs Innovia IEP programme, and the Inspiring African Women (IAW) Venture Building Incubation. As Cherith progresses through her academic journey, she envisions leveraging technology to create modules within Digitisd that address the socio-emotional needs of teachers.
