Charles Rosier studied in France where he gained a scientific baccalaureate in 1991, later completing his degree at the business school, ESCP Europe. Charles Rosier first worked in the world of finance and investment but has always been passionate about medicine and biotechnology. After having financed numerous biotech companies, Rosier has decided
to fully invest in this field, which is very close to its heart.
Rosier chose to apply his financial background and network to become involved in investments that would contribute to research solutions for medical conditions as well as environmental and humanitarian causes. His first investment was in the biotechnology company MIRAVANT, founded by Etienne Baulieu, former professor of the French Academy of Science, which involved pursuing treatment of macular degeneration. Rosier then became involved with one of Baulieu’s other projects involving the bio-pharmaceutical company MAPREG and has contributed to laboratory research for medical solutions surrounding depression, Alzheimer’s, and strokes.
Rosier’s most recent investment endeavor includes a joint business venture with Augustinus Bader, a prominent German professor who has conducted studies involving regenerative medicine and stem cell research for the past three decades. In 2007, Bader constituted a hydrogel utilizing stem cells in a revolutionary way that benefits burn victims and eliminated the need for skin grafts in patients. Impressed by this important work, Rosier wanted to connect with Bader and explore more opportunities with biotechnological treatments. Together, they formed ASC Therapeutics along with a joint venture, ASC Regenity, a cosmetics company and skin-care brand using Bader’s knowledge for skin related issues such as dryness and anti-aging. Charles Rosier and Augustinus Bader have also decided to create a charitable structure, intended to finance the purchase of equipment (sports and physiotherapy) to support the rehabilitation of patients and to cover hospital costs for people who cannot afford the cost of treatment.
Biological research interests aside, Rosier has also embraced cultural projects including his contribution to the pre-production of the film Golden Door, which received the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival, as well as the production of the debut album, “Everybody Relax” by the singer Lola in 2012.
