Catia Cesari has over twenty years of executive experience working in corporate development for firms in a range of industries. Over her career, she has grown investment portfolios and led mergers between US and European firms including GE, GE Energy, Gucci Group, and JAB holding. Catia Cesari was most recently senior vice president for corporate
development of COTY Inc, a company with a $10 billion listing on the New York Stock Exchange.
Ms. Cesari earned a master’s degree in economics and management from the University of Florence in 1991 and became CPA-certified in 1992. She began her career as a senior auditor for KPMG, a global business consultancy, which was then supporting GE in acquiring Nuovo Pignone. Moving to GE and London in 1994, she structured and negotiated complex deals. During her time at GE she received additional training in financial management, and completed the six-sigma program becoming a certified master black-belt.
Moving to Gucci Group, Catia Cesari served as director of mergers and acquisitions, overseeing the acquisition of 10 brands over 18 months. During her time at Gucci Group, she received training in structured finance at George Washington University and became Financial Service Authority certified in London.
In 2004, Ms. Cesari helped to found the First Reserve Corporation offices in London, expanding the corporation’s revenues in Europe past the billion-dollar mark. She moved to the Swiss-based firm JAB Holding in 2006, acting as vice president of corporate development for several of it subsidiaries.
